Limitations
If the source codec is supported by the new container, only the file's wrapper changes: this takes a fraction of a second and does not affect quality. Otherwise the video is re-encoded — for example when converting to WebM, which cannot hold H.264. Speed depends on your device, since your browser's own codecs do the work.
