How to convert HEIC to JPG

Limitations
Regular browsers cannot read HEIC, so this page loads a dedicated decoder — fetched once on the first HEIC file and running on your device, no server involved. Live Photos convert as regular stills (the video part is dropped). Rotation is applied automatically. Output is standard 8-bit color; iPhone HDR brightness does not carry over into JPG.

Frequently asked questions
Why does the iPhone shoot HEIC?
HEIC compresses about twice as well as JPG at the same quality, which is why Apple made it the default. But Windows, Android and most websites cannot open it — hence the need to convert.
How do I make the iPhone shoot JPG directly?
Settings → Camera → Formats → Most Compatible. New photos will be JPG; convert the existing HEIC ones here.
Is quality lost?
At 90% and above you will not find a difference on screen. For truly lossless output pick PNG, at the cost of a much larger file.
Are the photos uploaded anywhere?
No. The decoder runs in your browser and nothing is sent out — so there is no limit on count or size, and personal photos stay personal.
Can I compress or resize right away?
Yes: open the result in Compress photo or Resize image — both accept HEIC directly as well.
